YEAR C: PENTECOST 26

Isaiah 12
Comments on Isaiah 12 can be seen at Advent 3 this year. The chapter from Isaiah was selected as the psalm on that day in association with a reading from Zephaniah. Here it is coupled with another passage from Isaiah, 65:17-25. The choice of the psalm in both places is appropriate. Advent is a time of waiting and hope. So too this week as we begin to turn our minds toward the feast of Christ the King or The Reign of Christ, the last Sunday of the Christian year and on which we anticipate the coming of God’s kingdom in Christ.
Suggestions for the use of Isaiah 12 in worship can also be found at Advent 3.
