YEAR C: EPIPHANY 3
(Sunday between January 21 and January 27)
Psalm 19

Psalm 19 is a favourite of the Lectionary writers. It appears several times over the three year cycle in quite different contexts. In the way this psalm is used we see an illustration of the very thing today’s reading from Nehemiah indicates, that God’s word is open to new and different contexts and speaks to them in life-giving ways.

Full comment on Psalm 19 can be read in the comments for Lent 3 in Year B, or for the Sunday between September 11 and September 17 of the same year. Suggestions for the use of Psalm 19 in worship are available in the comment for Lent 3.
